• 1. Measuring your arm

Stretch your arm out to the side.

Measure the distance between your neck and the middle of your hand (where your thumb connects to your palm).

  • 2. Age

If you can't measure the arm, you can choose a violin based on age.

  • 3. When in doubt

If in doubt between two sizes: choose the smaller size. When a child plays on a violin that is too large, it becomes harder to reach everything properly. This leads to a tense posture.

Make sure the first experience with a violin is a relaxed one; if in doubt, choose the smaller size violin.

The Violin Factory stands out in several ways within the world of innovative string instruments. In addition to an attractive price, it is especially the design that make these violins perfectly tuned to music education.

focus on education

Tailored for the classroom

The Violin Factory creates instruments perfectly designed for group lessons. Our violins are made with the classroom in mind:

  • Integrated learning aids like markings and shapes help kids quickly navigate the instrument.
  • Lessons get off to a fast start with violins that are easy to tune and ready to play—no hassle, no time wasted. Plus, no case is needed.
  • These violins also work seamlessly with a wide range of teaching materials and curricula—from simple open-string melodies to more complex multi-part arrangements.

Sturdy

Durable instruments

Kids learn best by doing, and that means they need tough instruments. Our violins are built to handle the classroom, the car trunk, and the backpack with ease.

  • Durable enough to withstand drops, bumps, and heavy use.
  • Less affected by changes in temperature and humidity—perfect for storing in different places.
  • No delicate varnish or fragile wood parts—these violins are made to survive a busy school day.

Accessible and budget-friendly

Music for everyone

A traditional violin is beautiful, but not always practical or affordable. The Violin Factory makes music education more accessible:

  • Affordable both individually and in sets for schools and organizations.
  • Low maintenance costs—no specialized repairs needed.
  • Reach more children without compromising on the joy of playing.

Local and customized

Direct communication, plenty of choice

The Violin Factory works locally and flexibly, paying close attention to the needs of education professionals:

  • Made in the Netherlands, offering personalized service and direct communication.
  • Available in multiple sizes (1/4 to full size) and colors—fun for students, convenient for group lessons.

Honoring tradition

An entry-level instrument

Our instruments provide an ideal stepping stone to the wooden violin.

  • The motor skills children develop with a violin from the Violin Factory transfer directly to a traditional instrument, making the transition to a wooden violin smooth and natural.
  • Children gradually build posture, technique, and ensemble skills through play—a solid foundation for the future.
